Service Description:
  • Provides technical and professional advisory services and training to enhance the overall management skills and opportunities of the nine member First Nations in their quest to become self-sufficient
  • Serves a collective population of over 10,000 people comprised of eight First Nations within Treaty 9 and one First Nation within the Robinson-Superior Treaty (but not a signatory to this treaty)
  • Consists of Chiefs and representatives from each community
  • Operates a head office at Ginoogaming First Nation
  • Delivers programs and services in the areas of administration, environmental, finance, economic development, education, membership, health and social services, and technical services through local community government
  • Operates various First Nation owned for-profit corporations
  • Provides services that respect and reflect traditional cultural beliefs and practices

    Application: Services are delivered at the local level (Band Office) and accessed through direct communication with Matawa First Nations Management
    Eligibility / Target Population: Must belong to one of the member First Nations within Matawa Territory
