Service Description: Serves as a non-political Chiefs Council which provides support and advisory services to nine member First Nation communities

  • Owns and operates rent-geared-to-income housing for low or modest income persons in Thunder Bay
  • Properties consist of 50 units including one and two-bedroom semi-detached homes; one is modified to accommodate special needs
  • Units are spread throughout the city

  • Fees: None
    Application:
    • Must apply through the Central Housing Registry at Thunder Bay District Social Services and Administration Board (TBDSSAB)

    • Applicants are placed on a wait list used by Matawa and other social housing providers
    Eligibility / Target Population:
    • Must belong to one of the member First Nations within Matawa Territory and have low or modest income
