Service Description:
  • Operates an 18-bed acute care facility and provides an array of services
  • Transports complex medical patients to larger centres to receive specialized care
  • Serves as both a site receiving consults for local patients and for providing consults in the First Nations communities


  • Operates an 18-bed acute care facility and provides an array of services including:
    • Acute care
    • Complex continuing care
    • Diagnostic imaging (including ultrasounds)
    • Emergency Department
    • Laboratory
    • Nutritional services
    • Obstetrics (low risk)
    • Pastoral care
    • Pediatrics
    • Physiotherapy services
    • Surgical services
    Inpatient and Outpatient Services
    • Community Counselling and Addiction Services
    • Red Lake District Diabetes Program
    Outpatient Clinics include the following:

    Chemotherapy
    • Operates as a satellite clinic to Northwestern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre
    • Provides chemotherapy treatments locally with continued guidance from the Cancer Centre
    Endoscopy
    • Provides gastroscopies and colonoscopies through visiting surgeon two days per month
    • Offers a pre-scope clinic to patient through telemedicine
    Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)
    • Provides access to specialized medical care using video conferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment
    • Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities
    • Reduces the need to travel to receive medical care
