Service Description:
  • Operates an 18-bed acute care facility and provides an array of services
  • Transports complex medical patients to larger centres to receive specialized care
  • Serves as both a site receiving consults for local patients and for providing consults in the First Nations communities


  • Supports for individuals with prediabetes or diabetes
    • Offers a diabetes management clinic to assist individuals in understanding and managing their illness
    • Program services are provided through individual sessions, group sessions and health promotion activities

    Programs and services include:
    • Client support groups
    • Community screening
    • Exercise programs
    • Foot care workshops/clinics
    • Health fairs
    • Presentations to the public and to health care providers
    • School and daycare programs and visits
    Walk-In Clinic
    • Provides consultations and services for a half day per week on a walk-in basis

    Fees: None
    Application:
    • Open to referrals from any source

    • Booked appointments required (except Walk-In Clinic)
    Eligibility / Target Population: Adults 18 years of age and older

    • Type 1 Diabetes

    • Type 2 Diabetes (diet-controlled, pills, insulin or any combination of treatment)

    • Gestational Diabetes

    • Type 1 / Type 2 Pregnancy

    • Impaired Glucose Tolerance

    • Impaired Fasting Glucose

    • High Risk


    Child and Youth 17 years of age and younger

    • Type 1 Diabetes

    • Type 2 Diabetes (on insulin)

    • Type 2 Diabetes (no insulin)
