Service Description: Mandatory program for impaired driving offenders who want their driver's license reinstated
  • Provides an education program for individuals who have been charged with an impaired driving offence or have had a "warn range" suspension more than once within a five-year period in Ontario
  • Teaches people how to separate alcohol and drugs from driving
Offers the education in three parts:
  • Assessment
  • One-day education session or two-day treatment workshop
  • Six-month follow-up
NOTE: One-day workshop is for individuals who have had two warn range suspensions within a five-year period, two-day workshop for three or more warn range suspensions within a five-year period; for individuals with an impaired driving conviction, all parts are mandatory

Application: Registration and Intake assessment required

  • Registration is done through CAMH either online at www.remedial.net or via mail to Back on Track, 33 Russell St, Toronto, ON M5S 2S1

  • Fee payable via credit card, cheque or money order


Stream A program available for early reinstatement and includes:

  • First-time offenders who plead guilty and

  • Register for Back on Track and complete the assessment within 3 months and

  • Obtain a contract for Ignition Interlock


Stream B program for individuals who are:

  • First-time offenders but plead not guilty and

  • Register for Back on Track and complete the assessment within 6 months and

  • Obtain a contract for Ignition Interlock
Eligibility / Target Population: Mandatory for individuals 16 years of age and older who have been charged with an impaired driving conviction or have had a warn range suspension more than once in a five-year period within Ontario and want to have their driver's license reinstated
