Service Description:
|
Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:- Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, Thunder Bay, Armstrong office
- Hospital services available at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre
- Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Armstrong Detachment
- Community members conduct most shopping and business affairs in the community of Armstrong and Thunder Bay
- Provides an Elder's Complex residence for community seniors
- Offers events and activities at the Whitesand Multi-plex Community Centre
- Hosts an annual traditional Pow Wow held since 1980
