Service Description:
|
Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Whitesand First Nation- Tribal Council: Independent First Nations Alliance (IFNA)

Offers various employment and training services to Indigenous clientsFunds training initiatives from various sponsors or for clients who require additional training to secure employmentOffers practical career, employment, and individual counsellingProvides funding for following initiatives:- Mobility Assistance
- Pre-employment assistance
- Purchase of Training Program
- Self-employment assistance
Offers financial assistance for:- Course costs and materials (can include books, tuition etc)
- Income support (daycare and travel costs, training allowance)
- Living away from home allowances

- Individual required to research training opportunities
- Must provide labour market research to support training request
- Must provide letters of possible employment from potential employers
To qualify for a Whitesand FN sponsored training program, individual must also provide:
- Updated resume
- Name of training provider/institution with contact name
- Training outline for the program
- Dates of program and number of hours per week
- Total cost of training including materials and taxes
- Letter of acceptance into program
- Completed Client Application form
- Completed Participant Information form
- Signed Employment Insurance (EI) Verification form
- Signed Client Consent form
- Copy of Status Card, Social Insurance Number and driver's license
