Service Description: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Weechi-it-te-win Child and Family Services in Fort Frances
  • Hospital services available in Rainy River and Fort Frances
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call for police services to be dispatched to reserve
  • Conducts business affairs mostly in towns of Emo and Fort Frances
  • Hosts an Annual Sobriety Traditional Pow Wow each spring and an Annual Fish Fry in August
  • Publishes a monthly newsletter, The Rapids Review
  • Offers two community centres, a baseball diamond, an outdoor ice rink and an arena
  • Provides the Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre which offers cross country skiing and snowshoe trails during the winter months
