Service Description:

Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation- Tribal Council: Anishinaabeg of Kabapikotawangag Resource Council
(AKRC)Political Territorial Organization: Grand Council Treaty #3 (GCT3)Treaty #3
Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:- Closest hospital services available in Emo
- Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call 1-888-310-1122 for police services to be dispatched to reserve; on-reserve sub-office phone: 807-484-2795
- Child and Family Services worker provided through Weechi-it-te-Win Family Services, head office in Fort Frances
- Offers a new Multi-Purpose Facility which provides space for the Administration offices and Health Station
- Offers the Onigaming Convenience Store and Gas Bar
- Hosts an annual Traditional Pow Wow which has been held for over forty years
- Known originally as Sabaskong First Nation, it is still referred to by the old name of "Sab" by community resident
- Provides a Community Hall for events and activities as well as a Roundhouse
- Provides a Day Care Centre for pre-school children
- Administers education services and Mikinaak Onigaming School for students from JK-Grade 12 through the Education Authority
- Provides health care and health programs at the Medical Building/Nursing Station
- Offers a Public Library at Mikinaak School for community residents
