Service Description: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Closest hospital services available in Emo
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call 1-888-310-1122 for police services to be dispatched to reserve; on-reserve sub-office phone: 807-484-2795
  • Child and Family Services worker provided through Weechi-it-te-Win Family Services, head office in Fort Frances
  • Offers a new Multi-Purpose Facility which provides space for the Administration offices and Health Station
  • Offers the Onigaming Convenience Store and Gas Bar
  • Hosts an annual Traditional Pow Wow which has been held for over forty years
  • Known originally as Sabaskong First Nation, it is still referred to by the old name of "Sab" by community resident
  • Provides a Community Hall for events and activities as well as a Roundhouse
  • Provides a Day Care Centre for pre-school children
  • Administers education services and Mikinaak Onigaming School for students from JK-Grade 12 through the Education Authority
  • Provides health care and health programs at the Medical Building/Nursing Station
  • Offers a Public Library at Mikinaak School for community residents
