Service Description: Provides services that promote physical and mental health for community members
  • Coordinates health care services through Community Health Nurse, Community Health Representative, Clerk and Diabetes worker as well as other professionals
  • Provides health awareness and counselling, education and prevention workshops
  • Coordinates clinics/workshops in areas that may include Immunization, Sexual Health, Smoking Cessation and Communicable Diseases
  • Administers a Safe Needle Exchange program and functions as the safe needle exchange and safe inhalation kit pick-up and drop-off site
Addresses individual health care needs by providing:
  • Intake services to determine health care needs of individual
  • Referrals to appropriate health care providers based on information in the intake assessment
  • Advocacy and support on behalf of individual with other health professionals
  • Coordination of one-on-one pre-natal care with the community health nurse
  • Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs
  • Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments
Hosts a variety of annual community events including:
  • Annual Health Fair
  • Children's Christmas celebration and 55+ Christmas celebration
  • Community bazaars
  • Family picnic
  • Family walk
  • Good Food Box program
  • Halloween Drop-in
  • NIIBIN Day Camp
