Service Description:
  • Provides governance, political support, technical advisory, community development support and advocacy to the five member First Nations in their quest to build self-sufficient communities
  • Promotes Indigenous recognition and cultural awareness of the member First Nations
  • Consists of Chiefs and representatives from each community
  • Delivers programs and services through local community government in the areas of economic development, education, finance, health, and technical services including housing and operations/maintenance
  • Participates in and co-hosts the annual Northern Ontario First Nations Environment Conference (NOFNEC) with several other Tribal Councils

    Application: Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
    Eligibility / Target Population: Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the Independent First Nations Alliance (IFNA)
