Service Description:
  • Provides advisory, advocacy and technical support services in all areas of health and wellness programs
  • Collaborates with the Matawa Health and Social Services Task Group comprised of Health Directors from member communities, to oversee the management and administration of regional funded projects
  • Collaborates with Matawa Health Co-operative (MHC) which focuses on the priorities of mental health and addictions, diabetes and chronic diseases
  • Services are provided in the following areas:
    • Advocacy for patient and client services
    • Coordination of meetings
    • Crisis management and intervention
    • Domestic abuse affecting women and children
    • Educational information
    • Feedback and direction for member communities
    • General information/resources about health and social services
    • Research

    Application: Services are accessed at a local level (Band Office) and accessed through direct communication with Matawa First Nations Management
    Eligibility / Target Population: Must belong to one of the member First Nations within Matawa Territory
