Service Description:
|
Develops and implements policies, programs and a service system that helps improve outcomes for children, youth, families and individuals who need support, and advance the interests of women across Ontario
Provides financial assistance for low-income and moderate income families to cover some of the extra costs of caring for a child who has a severe disability, such as:- travel to doctors' appointments, hospitals and other appointments related to the child's disability
- special shoes and clothes
- parental relief such as respite

Eligibility / Target Population:
|
- Children 17 years of age and younger who are severely disabled with a permanent functional loss in one or more areas of development
- Must reside at home with their parents/caregivers
- Monthly benefit is determined by the extraordinary expenses directly related to the child's disability and the gross family income
- Medical travel expenses not covered by the Northern Travel Grant may be allowable
