Service Description:	Governed by an elected council of 13 members: the Mayor, 5 Councillors-at-Large and 7 Ward Councillors, municipal elections are held every 4 years Responds to emergencies as dispatched by 911 Provides fire suppression, vehicle extrication, ice and water rescue, high and low angle rescue, hazardous materials response, medical assistance and fire fighter defibrillation Offers tours of fire stations for individuals and groups, and pumper visits to events Issues open burning and recreational burning permits
