Lot possession process includes: a Certificate of Occupation for a period of four years (two in most cases) is first issued to the Band member for an allocated lot (determined through a fair lottery process) during which time the member must meet certain development/building requirements, after which time a Certificate of Possession is issued giving member lawful possession of the surveyed lot

Service Description:

Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation

Addresses and acts upon all housing issues and related requests through a Housing Committee

Ensures that housing issues are effectively managed

Offers the following services:

Development of policies and procedures that make up the Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation Housing Policy
Ensures community members are updated with current housing progress by means of community website posts and letters
Assistance with coordination of lot allocation which includes mailing application packages to all members expressing an interest in obtaining a lot
Collaboration on lottery process for lot allocation
Provides recommendations and changes to the housing policy
