Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation

Functions as the governing office for the community members; oversees all programs, services and facilities

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Due to past flooding by dam projects in the region there are few members living on Lac Des Mille Lacs reserve territory; most members live in communities throughout Northwestern Ontario
  • Members have committed to rebuilding own community on Seine River site; access road built to 22A1 in 2006; site now also includes a completed Roundhouse and a Community Cultural Complex
  • Community residential lots have been identified/zoned and Band members are currently developing their chosen lot and own residence
  • Provides services and programs from the Band Office located on Fort William First Nation reserve
  • Child and Family Services provided through Dilico Anishinabek Family Care
  • Provides education services for community members within the city of Thunder Bay including IR Churchill Elementary School, Seventh Fire Secondary School and Little Turtles Daycare and Learning Centre
