Service Description:
|
Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek (Rocky Bay First Nation) members- Tribal Council: Nokiiwin Tribal Council
(NTC)Political Territorial Organization: Union of Ontario Indians (UOI)Robinson-Superior Treaty
Responsible for processing Non-Insured Health Benefits Service claims and coordinating medical transportation for community members- Submits medical appointment travel, mileage, meal and accommodation requests on behalf of individual
- Assists with making travel arrangements
- Maintains client documentation, receipts and related information
- Provides transportation to medical appointments within the community and medical appointments out-of-town in Nipigon and Thunder Bay
Medical transportation trips are available Tue and Thu each week to Nipigon and Mon, Wed and Fri each week to Thunder Bay

- Requires booked appointments
- Applications for prior approval must be submitted to NIHB at least 10 days prior to a scheduled appointment
Medical Transportation
- Requires written proof of medical appointment
- Requires at least one week advance booking; exceptions made for emergencies
- Advance cancellation recommended

Members of Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek (Rocky Bay First Nation) who require assistance with Non-insured Health Benefits (NIHB) arrangements and forms, and assistance with medical transportation due to age or disability
