Service Description:

Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Obashkaandagaang First Nation also known as Washagamis Bay- Tribal Council: Bimose Tribal Council
(BTC)Political Territorial Organization: Grand Council Treaty #3 (GCT3)Treaty #3
Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
- Hospital services available at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora
- Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police Services, Kenora Central Detachment; ph: 807-548-5474, fax: 807-548-8387
- Child & Family services provided by Anishinaabe Abinooji Child & Family Services; Kenora Office ph: 807-468-6224, fax: 807-468-6643
- City of Kenora Fire and Emergency Services entered into a Fire Protection Agreement with Obashkaandagaang First Nation to serve the community of Obashkaandagaang First Nation with fire protection services
- Provides community events and activities at Obashkaandagaang First Nation Community Hall
- Provides an Elder's Centre housing complex for community elders
- Serviced by air through the Kenora Airport located 9.3 km NE of Kenora
- Hosts an annual Pow Wow each summer
- No formal childcare on reserve; there are approximately 5-7 spots held for Obashkaandaang clients at the Wauzhusk Onigum Daycare
