Service Description:
|
Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Sandy Lake First Nation- Independent First Nation (No Tribal Council affiliation)

Organization: Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN)Treaty #5
Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code- Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires
- Maintains the Sandy Lake Fire Hall and equipment
Provides the following services:- Education
- Emergency planning
- Fire investigation
- Fire suppression
- Hazardous materials information
- Home safety which includes ensuring all homes are equipped with smoke alarms and charged fire extinguishers
