Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Sandy Lake First Nation

Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code
  • Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires
  • Maintains the Sandy Lake Fire Hall and equipment
Provides the following services:
  • Education
  • Emergency planning
  • Fire investigation
  • Fire suppression
  • Hazardous materials information
  • Home safety which includes ensuring all homes are equipped with smoke alarms and charged fire extinguishers
