Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the North Caribou Lake First Nation

  • Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code
  • Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires
  • Provides the following services:
    • Education
    • Emergency planning
    • Fire investigation
    • Fire suppression
    • Hazardous materials information
    • Home safety which includes ensuring all homes are equipped with smoke alarms and charged fire extinguishers

    Application: Call Band Office during regular office hours; after hours calls answered by OPP, North Caribou detachment, who have list of on-call firefighters
