Service Description: Serves as a non-political Chiefs Council which provides support and advisory services to five member First Nation communities

  • Provides technical and professional advisory services and training to enhance the overall management skills and opportunities of the five member First Nations in their quest to become self-sufficient
  • Delivers programs and services through local community government in the areas of administration, economic development, education, finances, fire protection and prevention, human resources, membership and registration, and technical services including housing and operations/maintenance
  • Participates as a member of the Political Territorial Organization Grand Council Treaty #3 (GCT3) and serves five communities, all located within 100 km S and SW of Kenora
  • Northern Sub-Office is located at Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation
  • Onigaming satellite office located in the Ojibways of Onigaming Band Office
  • Kabapikotawangag means "the lake of the sand dunes and sand bars"
  • Aims to benefit and protect the interests of its membership
  • Provides services that respect and reflect the Anishinaabe cultural beliefs, traditions and practices
