Service Description:
|
Provides a wide range of community-based and culturally appropriate programs and services for Indigenous people living in an urban environment
Addresses child and youth mental health and addiction issues by promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy alternatives
- Offers services and programs in an effort to decrease youth involvement in gang activity, violence and drug and alcohol abuse
- Provides culturally based supports to reduce family violence
- Provides individual and family referrals to other service providers
Services and programs offered:
- Indigenous programs such as Kiizhay Anishinaabe (I Am a Kind Man)
- Community and cultural events
- Fitness and recreational activities
- Traditional healing circles
- Peer counselling
- Public education on alcohol and drug abuse, gang activity and violence
