Service Description:
|
Oversees the administration and operation of all municipal programs, services and facilities
Responsible for the administration of the Clerk's department and services
- Acts as liaison between the public and Members of Council
- Manages all corporate records and policies and procedures
- Maintains and prepares the agendas, by laws and minutes for all meetings including council and public sessions
- Maintains the books, records and accounts of Municipal Council
- Advises Council regarding legal requirements
- Provides information to the public regarding the policies, procedures and decisions of Council
- Oversees cemetery administration
- Facilitates death registrations and certificates
- Issues marriage licenses and marriage certificates
- Issues lottery licenses
- Handles commissioning and certifying of documents
The Clerk also serves as:
- The Returning Officer for all municipal elections
- The Municipal Freedom of Information (FOI) and Protection of Privacy coordinator
