Service Description:	To advance safe, fair and harmonious workplace practices that are essential to the social and economic well-being of the people of Ontario Provides Administrative Support Services to the Program Manager and staff in the District of Thunder Bay Construction Health and Safety Conducts inspections and monitors the Occupational Health and Safety Act for construction projects (buildings, bridges, etc) Industrial Health and Safety Conducts inspections and monitors the Occupational Health and Safety Act for industrial establishments (factories, shops, offices and logging operations) Thunder Bay Mining Health and Safety Program Conducts inspections and monitors the Occupational Health and Safety Act for mining properties (gravel pits, quarries, etc.) Employment Standards Program Enforces the Employment Standards Act and its regulations Provides information and education to employers and employees, making it easier for people to understand and comply voluntarily Investigates possible violations Resolves complaints
