Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Mishkosiminiziibiing First Nation

Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Weech-it-te-win Child and Family Services in Fort Frances
  • Hospital and ambulance services available in town of Rainy River
  • Hospital services also available in Fort Frances at LaVerendrye Hospital
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call 1-888-310-1122 for police services to be dispatched to reserve
  • Administers the Pegamigaabo School for students from JK to Grade 8 which houses the community library
  • Offers the Esiniiwab Health Centre and a fitness centre with a full complement of equipment
  • Offers Zig's Convenience Store for smaller items and J&J General Store in neighboring community of Naongashiing for a wider variety
  • Community members conduct most shopping in nearby Morson, Rainy River and Fort Frances
  • Operates Assabaska Ojibway Heritage Park
