Service Description:
|
Oversees projects as a coalition of community partners to promote and support the health and safety of children and their families
Focus on the health and welfare of children and families through community partnerships
Coordinates the following services and programs:- Free lending program for snowshoes, life jackets and personal floating devices (available at NWHU, children and adult sizes)
- Make and Take Program
- Supervises a hands-on cooking class once a month
- Teaches young mothers how to prepare a simple nutritious meal
- Offers each of the participants the prepared food item and recipe to take home
- Provides child care during the class
- Safe Kids Week
- Service and Health Fairs
- Welcome Baby Bags (distributed by NWHU)
- Transportation Voucher Program provides vouchers to patrons in need, at a cost of $2 for either a one-way or return trip to attend programs and/or appointments
- Car Seat Program includes referrals to other community/agencies regarding car seat regulations and/or inspections for existing car seats and may include the cost of a car seat purchase for families with identified need
