Service Description: Focus on the health and welfare of children and families through community partnerships

Coordinates the following services and programs:
  • Free lending program for snowshoes, life jackets and personal floating devices (available at NWHU, children and adult sizes)
  • Make and Take Program
    • Supervises a hands-on cooking class once a month
    • Teaches young mothers how to prepare a simple nutritious meal
    • Offers each of the participants the prepared food item and recipe to take home
    • Provides child care during the class
    • Safe Kids Week
    • Service and Health Fairs
    • Welcome Baby Bags (distributed by NWHU)
    • Transportation Voucher Program provides vouchers to patrons in need, at a cost of $2 for either a one-way or return trip to attend programs and/or appointments
    • Car Seat Program includes referrals to other community/agencies regarding car seat regulations and/or inspections for existing car seats and may include the cost of a car seat purchase for families with identified need
    • Advocacy
