Service Description:
  • Provides a hostel for First Nations individuals requiring accommodations for medical reasons
  • Offers client advocacy and support including accompanying elders to appointments and surgery, checking on clients daily during hospital stay and other duties as they arise
  • Hostel includes:
    • Accommodations
    • Children's play area and outdoor playground
    • Domestic kitchen (if individuals wish to cook own food)
    • Family lounge
    • Ground transportation
    • Housekeeping
    • Laundry on site
    • Meals and snacks
    • Recreation and social programming
    • Spiritual support
    Special Diets
    • Offers special dietary meals for individuals
    • Can include preparations such as diabetic, partial fasting, and vegetarian



    Fees: Service fees for non-insured travel companions; None for most services
    Application:
    • No advance reservations required; if hostel is fully booked, will accommodate in local hotels

    • Requires proof of medical appointment
