Service Description:
|
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing all social, recreational and special events for children and youth of the community- Provides various activities such as arts and crafts, baking nights, movie nights and outdoor sports events
- Organizes and supervises various outdoor activities for youth during summer months such as baseball, football, soccer, dodgeball and frisbee
- Works with the Brighter Futures program
Recreation services and facilities include:- Baseball diamond
- Beach area
- Gymnasium
- Skating rink
- Recreation complex, used for feasts, social gatherings, indoor sports activities; also includes office space for mineral exploration companies working with the community
Internet Cafe- Provides a drop-in cafe for youth to receive assistance with resume writing and filling out job applications
- Offers a social centre for youth

- Focus is on child and youth members of Neskantaga First Nation but parents welcome
- Children younger than 6 years of age must be supervised by parent/guardian when participating in activities and programs
