Service Description: Provides children and youth with physical disabilities who are registered with Easter Seals Ontario with financial assistance for the following (to a maximum of $3000/client/year):

Accessibility Aids:
  • porch lifts
  • portable ramps
  • building materials (for ramp only)
  • van/scooter lifts
  • ceiling track lift system for bedroom and bathroom only
  • portable lifts
  • stair lifts
  • van lifts
  • used van lifts (from recognized vendor)
  • specialty car seats
  • van tie down systems
    *Note: Will not consider funding for a lift for a vehicle over 5 years old
Bath and Toileting Aids
  • bath bars and grips
  • bath chair and seats
  • commode chairs
  • shower chairs
  • transfer aids for the bathroom
Communication and Writing Aids
  • communication boards
  • computers
  • speech and voice aids
  • trays
Mobility Aids
  • wheelchairs (manual/power)
  • customized seating systems (for mobility aids only)
  • specialized strollers (no accessories, i.e. sun canopies, baskets)
  • walkers (excludes Hart or Smart Walkers)
  • batteries for new electric wheelchair
  • scooter devices
Orthotics
  • ankle foot orthosis
  • knee ankle foot orthosis
  • TRAFOs (tone-reducing ankle-foot orthoses)
  • standers



Fees: None
Application:
  • Application submission period - January 1st to September 30th annually

  • A separate application must be completed for each piece of equipment requested

  • Applications can be found on the Easter Seals Ontario website


  • A request for Financial Assistance is valid for 4 months from the date of approval

  • Funding approval must be given prior to equipment/items being ordered/purchased

  • Parents must pay the first $100 for each request

  • Funding is conditional on the availability of funds; should there be insufficient funds, a wait list will be started
Eligibility / Target Population: Children and youth 18 years of age and younger with physical disabilities

  • Must be registered with Easter Seals Ontario, younger than the age of 19 years and have a valid Ontario Health Card

  • Parents must access all other sources of funding available to them prior to requesting funds from Easter Seals
