Provides an alternative justice program to the mainstream justice processProvides an opportunity for offenders to take responsibility for their actions and actively participate in rectifying the wrong they have doneAddresses the background of the accused, including addiction issues, loss of identity, family violence and abuse

- Apply through the Native Criminal, Family or Combined Courtworkers
- Referrals can be made through any of the Friendship Centre Program Staff and members of the judiciary

Eligibility / Target Population:
|
Indigenous youth between 12-17 years of age and adults who normally reside in Thunder Bay and have committed certain minor offenses such as:
- Fraud
- Theft
- Mischief
- Causing a disturbance
Certain offenses are never eligible for diversion, such as (but not limited to) the following:
- Serious personal violence
- Sexual assault
- Child abuse
- Criminal Code driving offenses such as impaired driving
