Service Description:
  • Provides information, support and workshops that address child and youth development
  • Focuses on emotional, nutritional, physical and social well-being
  • Works with various committees and coalitions addressing child health issues
  • Promotes importance of breastfeeding for first 6 months
  • Provides information and support on topics related to breastfeeding
  • Provides breastfeeding mentors through mothers who have successfully breastfed
  • Produces and distributes newsletter about child health issues

  • Public health nurses can provide information on topics including:
    • Healthy eating
    • Home safety
    • Interacting with your child
    • Involving fathers in child rearing
    • Parenting
    • Picky eaters
    • Sleep
    • Temper tantrums
    • Toilet training
