Promotes the recognition of Lakehead University as an important regional and provincial resource for gerontology education and researchFacilitates ongoing exchange with universities and centres both nationally and internationally in the areas of aging and healthProvides a comprehensive approach to educational support of professional and family caregivers through education and resource development in the district and the regionIn partnership with Urban Abbey (who provides the space at 308 Red River Rd), offers the Dementia Café, A Place to Belonga social program for people living with dementia, their family members and friends to enjoy a safe and inclusive social environmentanyone, regardless of age or stage of dementia, is welcomecomplimentary refreshments are provided
