Service Description:
  • Provides short term accommodation and support services to out of town Indigenous individuals accessing health care services in Thunder Bay
  • Provides meals, translation, transportation and referral services
  • Offers translation services in Ojibway, Oji-Cree, and Swampy Cree
  • Provides transportation to and from the Lodge, to medical appointments, and prescription pick up



  • Fees: None
    Application: Accepts authorized referrals from home communities by Medical Services or Community Health Representatives, which are subsequently approved by First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Health Canada who then notifies Wequedong Lodge of approval
    Eligibility / Target Population: Indigenous individuals accessing health care services in Thunder Bay and requiring accommodations
