Service Description: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services, Northwest Office, Pickle Lake
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services in Sioux Lookout
  • Offers several community businesses including Laureen's Gas & Grocery Store, The Bottle's Store, Maxine's Gas Stop and a taxi service
  • Provides an elementary school and an adult learning centre for distance education
  • Offers churches of various denominations
  • Operates a Canada Post postal service
  • Offers a local radio station
  • Serviced by air through charters and Wasaya flights at the Pickle Lake Airport
  • Publishes a community newsletter, the "Mishkeegogamang Ojibway Nation Community Update"
  • Sponsors a community hockey team called the Missabay Falcons
  • Participates in the Junior Canadian Rangers Program for youth (12-18 years) which teaches various skills including but not limited to first aid, using rifles safely, hunting and fishing, Native customs and traditions, healthy living, staying in school and problematic alcohol and substance use awareness
