Service Description: Operates a women's resource centre with a focus on the health and wellness of women and children
  • Provides educational programs on the prevention of violence against women and children
  • Coordinates a Traditional Parenting program
  • Facilitates cultural ceremonies such as Full Moon Ceremony and Feasts
  • Offers information sessions on becoming economically independent and healing from violence against women
Provides the following programs and services:
  • Book and video library featuring material on topics related to women's issues
  • Meeting and conference space at low cost
  • Drop-in days for women to informally gather and socialize
  • Sewing room open daily; some materials are available
  • Computers with Internet
  • Use of phone, fax machine, photocopier
  • Resume, cover letters and business plan assistance
  • Peer counselling
  • Referrals to other resources
  • Workshops (open to topic suggestions)
  • Supporting community development and women's initiatives
  • Support with basic needs such as clothing, housewares and furniture
  • Advocacy for individuals experiencing problems with the police, court and social programs
