Service Description:
|
Health centre focused on family and community health- Offers primary health care and preventative services for Anishinaabe people through both traditional and contemporary health services
- Provides chronic disease management
- Administers immunizations
- Provides referrals to other service providers and specialists
- Performs some diagnostic procedures including electrocardiograms (ECG) and specimen collection
- Provides in-house laboratory services
- Provides weekly outreach clinics in most Kenora area communities
- Collaborates with Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Sunset Country Family Health Team for consultations, diagnostic imaging and laboratory analysis
Provides services in the following areas:- Assessment, diagnosis and treatment
- Diabetes education and specialized care
- Early child development and nutrition
- Health education and promotion
- Mental health and wellness
- Nutritional counseling and support
- Preventative health care
- Reproductive health
- Traditional health care
Mental Health Counselling - One-on-one, couple, and family counselling * mental health screening and assessments * short-term and long-term counselling * confidential
Traditional Healing - Indgenous healing methods to restore balance and connectedness * holistic approach to individual, family, and community health * one-on-one sessions, traditional spiritual ceremonies
