Service Description:
  • Provides legal advice and assistance to residents within the district, particulary Indigenous people who, because of povery, geographic isolation, or language differences, do not have access to traditional exisiting legal services
  • Focuses on helping people get income maintenace benefits and maintain access to housing
  • Provides advice, assistance, and representation in courts or tribunals
  • Faciliates legal education workshops in appropriate areas of law
  • Note: No advice or representation is given regarding Family Law or Criminal Law. No legal advice is given through Facebook due to confidentiality issues (call clinic directly)

    Application: Financial assessment required for representation for a number of services
    Eligibility / Target Population:
    • Individuals experiencing financial hardship; includes social assistance recipients, pensioners, unemployed or low income individuals

    • Must meet financial criteria to be eligible
