Service Description:

A rural health care organization that includes the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan Family Health Team and Atikokan Community Counselling to provide a range of health care and community services to residents in the Town of Atikokan and surrounding areas in the Rainy River District
NOTE: Do not call the Atikokan General Hospital Emergency Department seeking medical advice. Due to legal reasons the emergency department staff are unable to provide advice or information over the telephone
Provides 24-hour ambulance and related services
Services provided include:- Airport transfers
- Land transfers for treatment and return
- Coordination of air ambulance transfers provided by the Medivac helicopters (one in Thunder Bay and one in Kenora), the Medivac plane (from Dryden) or one of several fixed wing planes
