Service Description: Located in the Prettie Residence building at Lakehead University on Oliver Rd

University community medical clinic
  • Offers primary health and mental health care to Lakehead University students
  • Students who have a local family physician are encouraged to continue to receive medical care from him or her, when possible, to ensure continuity of their medical care
Team of medical professionals provides primary care for:
  • episodic illnesses and chronic medical conditions
  • mental health concerns
  • sexual health concerns
  • wellness examinations and annual physicals
Counselling team provides students with short or long term emotional support for:
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Family and relationship issues
  • General mental health issues
  • Grief
  • Stress
  • Substance abuse concerns
Leave the Pack Behind team Promotes smoking cessation among occasional and regular smokers

Fees: Additional fees may apply for third-party medical services * inquire when booking an appointment
Application: Services are by appointment which can be made by calling or visiting the Centre, but not by email
Eligibility / Target Population: Medical: Currently enrolled Lakehead University (Thunder Bay campus) students who have paid the Health Services Support Fee in their tuition
Provincial health card or alternate health coverage, such as University Health Insurance Plan, documentation and student card required
Counselling: Currently enrolled Lakehead University (Thunder Bay campus) students
Note: The Health Services Support Fee is not the same as the LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance Fee
