Service Description: A rural health care organization that includes the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan Family Health Team and Atikokan Community Counselling to provide a range of health care and community services to residents in the Town of Atikokan and surrounding areas in the Rainy River District
NOTE: Do not call the Atikokan General Hospital Emergency Department seeking medical advice. Due to legal reasons the emergency department staff are unable to provide advice or information over the telephone

  • Assists patients living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to better manage their disease process
  • Conducts spirometry assessments to determine lung function
  • Provides education and support to help set goals for individual's care
  • Partners with Atikokan General Hospital to provide exercises for COPD patient
  • Offers smoking cessation counselling if needed
  • Provides referrals to other programs and services
