Service Description:
|
A rural health care organization that includes the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan Family Health Team and Atikokan Community Counselling to provide a range of health care and community services to residents in the Town of Atikokan and surrounding areas in the Rainy River District
NOTE: Do not call the Atikokan General Hospital Emergency Department seeking medical advice. Due to legal reasons the emergency department staff are unable to provide advice or information over the telephone
Provides support to patients after being discharged from hospitalSends letters as well to patients having surgery to contact clinic for follow-up assistance post-surgeryAfter hospital discharge services include:- A phone call from RN to ensure there are no problems
- Assistance with symptom management
- Help with making arrangements for home care if required
- Booking a follow-up appointment with Physician
- Home visits by RN if patient is struggling in any area
