Service Description:

Responsible for the daily operations and maintenance services within the town
Maintains the Marathon Recreation ComplexOffers a variety of children's programming and recreational activitiesResponsible for managing and maintaining several municipal recreation facilities, including:
- Del Earle Park
- Dyer's Baseball Park
- Lakeview Community Hall
- Marathon Arena
- Marathon Tennis Courts
- Pebble Beach Park
- Peninsula Golf Course
- Penn Lake Park
- Port Hole Pool
- Seniors' Sports Park
- Superior Slopes Ski Hill
- Youth Sports Park
The department is also responsible for the following:
- Summer, fall, winter, and spring programming including public swimming, Red Cross swimming lessons, public skating, drop-in hockey
- Assisting groups and organizations with their leisure activity interests and initiatives
- Preparing long-term strategies including the identification of community leisure activity needs
- Actively promoting all recreation programs to ensure maximum participation and cost effectiveness
- Coordinating annual special events such as the Christmas Parade and Volunteer Service Awards
- Providing assistance to groups seeking financial or other assistance
