Service Description: Provides law-related services including legal, paralegal, public legal education and law reform services to Band Members of Nishnawbe Aski Nation First Nations

Functions as an alternative to the Court process regarding Child Welfare matters
  • Provides family mediation services (dispute resolution) through traditional Circles
  • Aims to restore harmony between family members through an agreed-upon family care plan

Application:
  • Referrals can be made by anyone, however all individuals and agencies involved must agree to participate

  • Referral form is on the website
Eligibility / Target Population: NAN First Nation families who are involved with a child protection agency
