Service Description: Provides a wide range of community-based and culturally appropriate programs and services to Indigenous peoples residing in or migrating to the city

  • Provides a specialized court focused on a holistic way of dealing with Indigenous people in the court system and a focus on healing
  • Utilizes a restorative justice circle approach with a Judge, Elders and the offender (and their supports), lawyers and in some cases the victim and their supports where the offender shares their story
  • Ruling is made by the Judge, recommendations are given by the Elders and follow-up support provided by court workers

  • Fees: None
    Application: Referrals accepted from individuals, Indigenous Courtworkers, or the Crown's office
    Eligibility / Target Population: Indigenous individuals going through the court system
