Length of stay can vary from several weeks to maximum of 364 days, depending on need.
The Lodge has two accessible rooms.

The Lodge is a partnership between St Joseph's Care Group, the District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration board, St Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay, Dilico Anishnawbek Family Care, and Alpha Court.

Service Description: Provides a variety of rehabilitation services, mental health and addiction services, and long-term care services

  • Provides 30 transitional housing beds for individuals living with mental illness and/or addictions and who struggle with homelessness
  • Provides a safe, supportive environment with 24/7 support
  • Offers support to individuals to set short and long term goals to support transition to independent living in the community
  • Offers skill building groups that include literacy, cultural teachings, recreational therapy, and cooking groups

  • Fees: None - on-site support staff; rent - rent geared to income and food costs
    Application:
    • Referral from a community worker

    • Individuals will go through an assessment and screening process to determine if they're suitable for the Lodge
    Eligibility / Target Population: Individuals 18 years of age and older who are continuing treatment and rehabilitation for mental health and problematic substance use that poses a barrier to maintaining safe, stable housing and

    • Are currently homeless (including transitional or inadequate housing and not paying rent) or

    • Are currently on the Rent-Geared-To-Income waitlist and qualify for high needs housing

    • Have current involvement with a community support or case management provider and

    • Must have some form of income support (ie OW, ODSP, pension)
