Service Description: Oversees the administration and operation of all city departments and services

Operates a multi-purpose recreational facility
  • Offers a variety of group exercise classes for all levels of fitness including pilates, yoga and spinning
  • Provides an indoor track for year round walking
Arena
  • Provides scheduled hockey, skating sessions and public skating
  • Posts schedule of activities online
  • Offers ice surface rentals
  • Offers surface (no ice) summer rentals for events such as concerts, exhibitions and indoor soccer
Cardio and Weight Room (Fitness Centre)
  • Provides a cardio room with treadmills, recumbent bikes, spinning bikes, upright bikes, elliptical machines, steppers, a rowing machine and a stretcher
  • Provides a weight room with strength training equipment and free weights
  • Offers a 1-2 hour orientation to familiarize patrons with all equipment
  • Offers personal trainers
Courts
  • Provides a racquetball court that can also be used for wallyball, badminton and progressive tennis
  • Provides a squash court that can also be used for basketball
Pool
  • Provides a 5 lane, 25 metre swimming pool that includes a waterslide, a therapeutic pool, diving board and sauna
  • Offers public swims, private and group lessons and waterfit classes

Cardio & Weight Room (Fitness Centre)

  • Sign up at front desk for orientation to equipment

  • Contact personal trainers individually to sign up for their services

Reservations for single or double time slots accepted on first come basis up to 1 week in advance


Fitness Classes

  • No advance registration necessary; sign list prior to class

  • Drop in to any class


Pool


Some pool fitness classes require advance registration; call office to make arrangements
Eligibility / Target Population:
    Children 6 years of age and older

  • Children 5 years of age and younger must be accompanied by individual 16 years of age and older


Cardio and Weight Room (Fitness Centre)

  • Patrons 18 years of age and under must have written consent from parent/caregiver

  • Patrons 14 years of age and under must be accompanied by adult and have waiver signed each time


Courts

  • Patrons must be 6 years of age and older

  • Allowed court time for individual use is 45 minutes

  • Booking accepted up to 2 weeks ahead


Pool

  • Must be minimum of 6 years of age to be admitted to pool on own

  • Children 5 years of age and under must be accompanied by and be within arms reach of individual 14 years of age and older
