Service Description: Serves as a non-political Chiefs Council which provides support and advisory services to nine First Nation communities

Addresses health and safety issues related to water and wastewater in First Nation member communities through training initiative
  • Offers a site-based, one-on-one and hands-on training program for water treatment and wasterwater plant operators tailored to the needs and aptitude of each trainee
  • Provides hands-on applications and demonstration by qualified operators and trainers in water and wastewater systems
  • Includes a basic mathematics course and Occupational Health and Safety Workshop
  • Following completion of initial program, trainer conducts periodic site training sessions of 1-4 days every 5-6 weeks over a one-year period

Application:
  • Services are delivered at the local level (On-site Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants)

  • Awards 16.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for First Nation participants completing the program
Eligibility / Target Population: Must belong to one of the member First Nations in the Bimose Tribal Council territory
