Service Description: Serves as a non-political, regional Chiefs Council which provides support services to five First Nation communities

  • Provides technical advisory and training services to housing authority and band government personnel in all housing issues
  • Provides advisory and support services with Architectural CAD and Design
  • Inspects existing housing and various stages of new housing construction in member communities
  • Offers advisory services with housing policies, contracts and lease agreements
  • Assists in the development and submission of housing proposals and building plan reviews
  • Assists with on-reserve Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) funding applications
  • Delivers the Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP)
  • Co-hosts the annual First Nations Northern Housing Conference with several other Tribal Councils

    Application: Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
    Eligibility / Target Population: Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the Shibogama First Nations Council territory
